Dairy Products
Healthy and strong teeth need calcium. Make sure you include a lot of dairy products in your child’s diet, such as- milk, cheese, yoghurt, etc. These products not only contain minerals like calcium and phosphorus but also contain protein that keeps your teeth free from cavity by remineralisation of tooth enamel. This dental care tip is very vital.

Water
Get your little one in the habit of drinking plenty of water right from the start. 6-8 glasses of water everyday is the daily requirement. Water not only hydrates your child’s body but also washes off the excessive sugars and acids from the teeth and keeps it from decaying early on.

Veggies and Fruits
High fibre vegetables and fruits have natural cleansing and astringent properties that help clean stains from your kid’s teeth. They also stimulate saliva production which not only neutralises harmful acids in the mouth but also provides calcium and phosphate for remineralisation. Crunchy foods have known to mechanically cleanse the teeth as well. Isn’t this a great dental care tip?

Nuts
Many nuts provide vitamins and minerals that keep your kid’s teeth healthy. These include peanuts (rich in calcium and Vitamin D), almonds (with high levels of calcium that helps both teeth and gums), cashews (that stimulate saliva and help clean teeth) and walnuts (packed with fibre, folic acid, iron, thiamine, magnesium, iron, niacin, vitamin E, vitamin B6, potassium and zinc). Chewing onto nuts helps stimulate your childs gums & help keep them healthy

Minerals
Foods that provide vitamins A, C and D as well as calcium and phosphorus, are especially good for the teeth. These foods can be a part of an overall healthy diet, as well. These include beef, eggs, fish, potatoes, spinach, fortified cereals, tofu, leafy green vegetables, beans, whole grains and poultry.

Your child's meals and snacks should include a variety of foods from the basic food groups, including fruits and vegetables; grains, including breads and cereals; milk and dairy products; and meat, nuts and seeds.
