Eat Healthy:
Consume the following food stuff to provide your teeth proper gum care and to avoid gum problems.
  • Foods with fibre, such as fruits and vegetables have a detergent-like effect in your mouth. They also stimulate saliva flow, which, is the best natural defence against cavities and gum diseases.
  • Cheese, milk, plain yogurt, and other dairy products. Cheese is another saliva generator. The calcium in cheese, and the calcium and phosphates in milk and other dairy products, help put back minerals that your teeth might have lost due to other foods.
  • Foods with fluoride, such as drinking water, or any product with fluoridated water, help your teeth. This includes powdered juices (as long as they don't contain a lot of sugar) and dehydrated soups. Commercially prepared foods, such as poultry products, seafood, and powdered cereals, can also provide fluoride.
Maintain Oral Hygiene:
Brush for 3 minutes at a time, at least twice daily. While brushing, work your way around your mouth and spend about 12 to 15 seconds in each spot. Floss at least once daily! Rinse out your mouth well, especially after every meal. Try brushing at a 45° angle as this helps remove plaque and food/drink particles stuck in your teeth better. You should also try to avoid snacking between meals as much as possible, as it results in more food debris and bacteria building up in the mouth. These proper techniques will keep you happy and free from any dental problems or gum problems.

Take Precautions:
Wear dental guards while playing sports, so that you do not loose gum grip in an unforeseen accident. Maintain proper oral hygiene and choose the right toothpaste to keep all dental problems away & ensure proper dental care.
