Bacteria can accumulate in the cracks and crevices, causing acid build-up that promotes decay.

Poor oral hygiene is another obvious cause of cavities in adults. Irregular brushing and erratic eating can together create havoc and increase the risk of tooth decay. You should brush your teeth at least twice a day.
